First Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood multiplayer DLC will be free
New map adds French island to Ezio's list of places to visit
Ubisoft has announced that the first batch of DLC for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood will add a new map and multiplayer mode when it's released this December. Oh, and it'll be free.
Entitled the 'Animus Project Update 1.0,' the DLC will introduceplayers to the French island of Mont Saint-Michel, where they'll ply their stealthy trade in a whole new area filled with rocky streets, multi-level buildings and the prerequisite supply of ominous religious structures.
The update will also introduce players to an 'Advanced' Alliance mode which will enhance the existing Alliance mode by raising its difficulty and adding new gameplay elements.
“We are very thrilled to be able to offer the first multiplayer DLC for Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood for absolutely free,” said Sebastien Puel, executive producer, Ubisoft Montreal. “We wanted to say thank you to our fans for making Brotherhood such a huge success its opening week. We are very proud of the unique and innovative multiplayer mode it offers, and hope the fans enjoy the new content.”
As any good historian knows (read: anyone with access to the internet), Mont Saint-Michel is named after the Archangel Michael who, in 708, appeared to St. Aubert, the bishop of Avranches, and ordered him to build a church on the island in his name. Though he initially refused the request, Aubert quicklychanged his tune whenMichael burnt a holein his freaking head.
The Animus Project 1.0 is due out December 14 for the 360 and PS3.

I've seen enough: Assassin's Creed Shadows will beat Black Flag as my favorite AC game as Ubisoft says it lets you "Naruto run" as the "fastest Assassin" it's ever made
Ubisoft had to "retool" the mobile game lore for Assassin's Creed Shadows, with a brand new modern narrative that "will develop over time"
