Filming to begin on The Legend Of Conan in spring
Arnold Schwarzenegger still in place to star
Arnold Schwarzenegger’s return as the mighty Conan is steadily approaching, with producer Fredrik Malmberg confirming that The Legend Of Conan is slated to begin filming next spring.
At present, the final touches are being applied to the latest draft of the script, with the film still yet to receive the official greenlight, but Malmberg seems confident that this should be a formality.
“We’ll probably have this turned in around September after the holiday,” says Malmberg, “and then we’ll take it to the studio and if they’re happy, we can hopefully start in the spring.”
Schwarzenegger has repeatedly stated that he is keen to return to the franchise that made his name, while Malmberg has said that both he and the star are hopeful that it will be his next film.
The producer has also said that potential directors are currently being explored, from “old great names” to “new fresh faces”. Let’s get Arnie on board first though, and we can worry about the rest later…
