FIFA's future on PS2 revealed
FIFA 08's associate producer spills carefully-selected beans
We spoke with associate producer Paul Hossack after our hands-on time with the PS2 version of FIFA 08, and he almost spilled the beans on FIFA 09. When we asked him whether the next FIFA would appear on the machine, he said he's been told not to give details on games that haven't been announced, but did have this to say:
"We believe pretty strongly in the PS2 platform and that there are still some games to come from FIFA on the PS2. Put another way, FIFA 05 was our last version on PS1 - and I know that because I produced it - so I don't think we're done just yet with the PS2 platform."
We'll take that as a yes then, shall we Paul? It's worth noting that FIFA 05 was released in 2004 - some four years after PS2 launched, so by the same token, we could see FIFA 2010 on PS2.
Check back later for the fullinterview in video format, including some more details on the co-op mode, player traits and the new controls. In the meantime, why not check out ourupdated preview?
