FIFA 08 review

Continues its recent good form, but falls short of a title-winning triumph

Why you can trust 12DOVE Our experts review games, movies and tech over countless hours, so you can choose the best for you. Find out more about our reviews policy.

Co-op Season and to a lesser extent, Be a Pro, modes work because it’s still childishly gratifying to see your surname on your favourite team’s shirt as you rocket a 25-yarder into the top corner of the onion bag to complete your hat-trick. And all the more so when you make your long-suffering mates endure replays of it from every angle. If you actually playsoccer and know a bit about teamwork and positional play, then you’ll get an extra kick out of trying to make the right runs and timing them so you stay onside, tracking back and all the other stuff that a proper professionalsoccer playeris expected to do over the course of 90 minutes.
