Free-to-play shooter F.E.A.R. Online coming to U.S.
Fear with friends
F.E.A.R. is coming back... as a free-to-play PC shooter. Wartune publisher Aeria Games today announced it's bringing F.E.A.R. Online to the U.S. and closed beta signups are open now.
F.E.A.R. Online was developed by Korean developer Inplay Interactive in association with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. The below trailer is for the Korean version of the game, but it has subtitles for what little dialogue occurs.
Ghost girl/woman/peripheral vision occupant Alma's story is expanded in four-player co-op missions which occur in the same timeframe as F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin. FEAR mode looks like more of a Call of Duty Zombies or Left 4 Dead inspired run-and-gun, and Team Deathmatch, Search & Destroy, and possess-em-up Soul King mode add some PvP competition.
What do you think of the horror shooter's new direction?

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
