Fast & Furious 7 to complete Paul Walker scenes with CGI and body doubles
Filming pressing ahead on the action sequel
Fast & Furious 7 is set to complete some of the late Paul Walker’s remaining scenes using a mixture of CGI and body doubles, according to a report in the New York Daily News .
“They have hired four actors with bodies very similar to Paul’s physique and they will be used for movement and as a base,” says a source close to the production. “Paul’s face and voice will be used on top using CGI.”
Filming has now resumed on the project, which had been delayed after the actor died in a car crash over the Thanksgiving break in November of last year.
According to Vin Diesel, the tragedy has directly affected how he has approached the film as a whole, and his portrayal of protagonist Dominic Toretto.
“The transition into that Dom state of mind has always been an interesting one,” says Diesel. “Only this time there is added purpose, a collective goal to make this the best one in the series.”
Directed by James Wan and co-starring Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson and Jason Statham, Fast & Furious 7 will open in the UK on 10 April 2015.
