It seems second chances are back in fashion. Weeks after Jericho won itself a surprise reprieve, the SCI FI Channel has announced that Farscape will be making its first outing since 2003 – albeit via a slightly different medium. The network will broadcast 10 new webisodes of the show on its SCI FI Pulse network, and we’re told the new instalments will expand the Farscape universe.
SCI FI’s news doesn’t end there. First off, the channel’s announced an eight-week series of Battlestar Galactica “mini-sodes” that will air in the run up to the Pegasus-set TV movie,“Razor”. Apparently the 2-3 minute shorts will be set during the first Cylon war and focus on a young William Adama (played by Nico Cortez) as he finds a Cylon weapon that will come to the fore 40 years later – sounds like a good set up for the upcoming season four.
New shows on the SCI FI slate include The Awesomes (an animated series about an ageing superhero team from some of the people behind Saturday Night Live), a miniseries about a pilot who gets trapped on a distant planet and becomes its leader, and Going Homer – sadly not a reality show about people who want to become a Simpson, but a series about a 12-year-old boy who can see Greek and Roman gods. Obviously, we’ll keep you posted…
