Far Cry 6 release date reportedly coming May 2021
The Microsoft store may have leaked the release date
The release date for Far Cry 6 has seemingly been leaked via the Microsoft store.
The Microsoft store page in question features a listing for Far Cry 6 and indicates that the release date for the Ubisoft game will be May 26, 2021.
As of right now, the page is still available for viewing and hasn’t been taken down, there is also an option to pre order for $59.99. A user on Resetera posted a screenshot of the web page in case the listing gets taken down.
The version available on the store looks to be only for the Xbox One at the moment, but it does say that the game is optimized for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, suggesting that it will be backwards compatible at launch. In small print, the page also says, “Online multiplayer on Xbox requires Xbox Live Gold,” indicating that Far Cry 6 will have an online multiplayer of some sorts.
Far Cry 6 was initially announced earlier this year during a Ubisoft Forward event and was initially set to release February 2021, but was recently delayed to a later date.
We reported on the delay last month, which was revealed during a Ubisoft financial call, saying that the new launch would take place at some point in the next successive financial year, suggesting a new date of somewhere between April 2021 and March 2022. Now it seems that we’ll be seeing Ubisoft’s Far Cry 6 late May next year.
Far Cry 6 is set to launch for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and PC in 2021.
