Evil Queen and jailbird
Casting Call: Susan Sarandon is Enchanted, Sarah Jessica Parker in the Slammer
Susan Sarandon will have to start practicing her cackle. The actress, who was last seen in Elizabethtown playing a dippy widow, has signed up to play an evil queen in Disney’s Enchanted. Queen Narissa is the nemesis of Enchanted’s heroine (Amy Adams), and is responsible for banishing her to modern day New York, where she must find her own way. But don’t feel too bad for her – Adams soon finds herself romanced by prince James Marsden.
Sarah Jessica Parker, meanwhile, is being thrown into Slammer. The dark comedy follows a pushy publicist who is jailed and ends up producing a musical while in prison. Todd Graff is calling the shots and the tunes will be written by Marc Shaiman, best known for his work on South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut.
