The new Evil Dead film has released a brand new poster online, the tagline of which makes quite the statement of intent.
“The most terrifying film you will ever experience” screams the text, echoing Bruce Campbell’s comments that the film will be focusing on sheer horror rather than the chuckles of the second two episodes in the series.
Having taken a look at the official trailer , we can certainly believe that the new film is scarier than those that have gone before, although lashings of gore and cringe-inducing violence don’t necessarily equate to genuine fear.
Directed by Fede Alvarez and co-starring Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez and Jessica Lucas, Evil Dead opens in the UK on 12 April 2013.
