Everything we know about GTA IV to date

25 Jan, 2008

To neatly follow ourstonking great GTA IV preview, we put our collective brains together and collated an equally sizeable rundown of everything we know about the game at this fragile moment in space and time. From the blindingly obvious to the infinitesimal minutiae that only the most anal detail hunters (that'll be us) would take the trouble to sniff out, you'll find it all in this no-nonsense, straight-to-the-chase GTA IV knowledge repository. Every bullet-pointed morsel is fact based on what we've been shown or told by Rockstar.

So, don't be an ignorant stupid head and object of gamer ridicule - explore our list with your eyes and assimilate the knowledge...

• GTA IV's Liberty City consists of five boroughs, each one inspired by real locations. They are: Dukes (Queens), Bohan (The Bronx), Broker (Brooklyn), Algonquin (Manhattan) and Alderney (New Jersey).

• GTA IV's scruffy-looking leading man is Eastern European immigrant, Niko Bellic (the smart money's on him being Serbian). He has a military background and has, in his past, "killed people, smuggled people, sold people." He's hoping to escape his old life by coming to Liberty, but things don't work out quite how he imagined.

• Phrases heard by Niko while in the midst of a shootout include: "Don't push me friend", "I'm not going to think twice about killing you" and "Don't try to be a wise guy."

• An in-game hour is about two minutes of real-time.

I don't have the energy to really hate anything properly. Most things I think are OK or inoffensively average. I do love quite a lot of stuff as well, though.
