Epic: PC Gears content on 360 "unlikely"
"It's very unlikely because the two code bases aren't compatible," Mark Rein said
Epic's Mark Rein has said it's "very unlikely" that the content the developer is creating exclusively for Gears of War on PC will ever be released for the original Xbox 360 version of the game.
"It's very unlikely because the two code bases aren't compatible," Rein explained when we caught up with him earlier this week.
"To do that, we would have to patch the 360 version and the size of the patch would probably dwarf all five updates we've done so far. It's just too much work. I can't see it happening."
"It's not impossible," he added, "it's just unlikely."

Rein said that Epic's well aware that Xbox 360 gamers aren't happy about the situation "because they will devour any content we have."

"It's just a very, very hard job to do that and I don't think we'll be doing that."
Epic is creating three new multiplayer maps, a new multiplayer game type and five new campaign chapters for Gears of War on PC.
We asked Rein whether Xbox 360 gamers can expect any new download content for Gears of War in the near future.
"I don't know, we don't plan it that far, right?" he replied.
"Right now, the team's busy with the Windows version, so when they've finished that then maybe we'll go back and see if there's more stuff we can do on the 360."
