Empire Earth III - interview
Designers shed light on three new factions and settle for nothing less than world domination
But aside from trimming down the breath of the game and giving it more depth, a new single player campaign mode, World Domination has been added to the mix. The highlight here is the 3D globe that you'll interact with between battles to upgrade your territories and choose targets on your quest to rule the world. Much like Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Dark Crusade and the Total War series, your armies and structures are persistent as you progress through various epochs of warfare.
It seems risky to make so many changes to the rock solid franchise, but from what we've seen so far, it's likely that fans will be pleased with Empire Earth III's new direction. The game is currently scheduled to ship this fall. In the meantime, scroll down for our interview with designer, Eric Krasnauskas and head over to the images tab above for the latest screens from Empire Earth III.
