Elizabeth Banks finds family horror
She’s joining the remake of A Tale Of Two Sisters
The need for Asian horror movies for Hollywood to adapt never seems to be sated, which might explain why DreamWorks – which helped kick the genre off with The Ring – has snapped up the rights to Kim Jee-Woon’s 2003 chiller A Tale Of Two Sisters.
And like the company did with Naomi Watts in Ringu, the company has found a quality actress to take the lead. Elizabeth Banks, seen in the Spider-Man franchise and The 40 Year-Old Virgin, will play the obsessive stepmother of the titular siblings who have returned home after a spell in a mental institution. But Banks’ cruel ways and an interfering ghost don’t help their recovery. Cue blood, running and screaming…
Conveniently, the directors are brothers – Thomas and Charles Guard, who will start shooting this July in the current Holly-hotspot of Louisiana.
