Elder Scrolls for PS3 and PSP?
Post on forum sparks speculation
Wednesday 26 April 2006
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion could be on its way to PlayStation 3 and PSP in November, according to murmurings that started on an internet forum.
While forums aren't usually the most reliable of sources the one in question, Gaming Age, has long been known as a place where developers and industry insiders have been able to discuss and swap ideas.
The poster who started the speculation revealed that they had managed to get hold of a release schedule from Elder Scrolls developer Bethesda, which had PSP and PS3 versions of Elder Scrolls IV down for a November 2006 release.
Bethesda has reacted to the rumours by stating that it has announced no plans for a PSP or PS3 version, which has only added fuel to the speculation as not 'announcing' doesn't mean that it is not 'doing'.
If these plans prove to be true this will come as a blow to Microsoft as Oblivion has proved to be a huge hit for Xbox 360, and has become the big selling game that every console launch needs.
As with all the very best speculation there's a distinct lack of evidence, but it will be interesting to see what Bethesda and 2K Games have for presentation at next month's E3.
