Edgar Wright adds another name to Scott Pilgrim
Kieran Culkin will play Wallace Wells
Hot Fuzz helmer Edgar Wright has cast Kieran Culkin in his next project, the adaption of Scott Pilgrim Vs The World.
Edgar’s in Toronto right now getting ready to shoot the movie this spring in Toronto with Superbad’s Michael Cera playing Scott Pilgrim.
According to Hitflix, Culkin – last seen on screen as the lead in 2006’s Igby Goes Down – will play Wallace Wells, Pilgrim’s gay best mate. The pair share a bed, though it’s more Morecambe And Wise than Queer As Folk, since Pilgrim is heterosexual.
Mary Elizabeth Winstead
Adapted from Bryan Lee O’Malley’s cult comic series, Pilgrim will see the titular character taking on the evil seven ex-boyfriends to win back his girlfriend (Mary Elizabeth Winstead).
And with Wright gearing the film up, expect more casting announcements to arrive soon.
Having just devoured the first in the Pilgrim series, we can’t wait for this one. Plus, it’s a new Edgar Wright movie – and who can be patient for that?
