EA wasn't laughing at South Park last week

It seems like EA didn’t find last week’s episode of South Park, titled Sexual Healing, all that funny, as they are apparently decidinglegal actionafter the 14th season premiere. For those who missed it, the episode was topical as usual, dealing with the tons of sex scandals going on with male celebrities, including one Tiger Woods. The creators replay alleged events in Tiger’s life, as those possible dealings happen in a video game the boys play throughout the episode. Here’s a clip:

Oh South Park, you are the living end. Anyway, Cartman states that they’re playing Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 from EA Sports, which is what EA will undoubtedly call their real Woods game this year. We can see why this might bother EA, but a real lawsuit? These guys fended off Scientology and their army of lawyers, so we don’t like EA Sports’ odds. Humorously, this is hot on the heels of Rock Band, an EA Parters game, releasing Eric Cartman’s exemplary rendition ofPoker Face. Well, it’s funny to us, maybe not to EA. They should be more like Blizzard, who worked with South Park and embraced their mockery in the classic WoW-themed episode.

We could just list all our favorite video game moments from South Park, but then we rememberedwe already did. So why not read that and reminisce about these well-observed moments while we wait to see if EA will go through with it or just let it go and get on with their lives.
