E3 MVG 2011 Selection: BioShock: Infinite interview
Ken Levine lists his influences and inspirations for BioShock: Infinite – and discusses a return to Rapture
After 20 minutes of BioShock: Infinite, I was speechless. So much awesome was crammed onto the screen in such a short time %26ndash; blistering gun duels, wild skyhook rollercoaster rides, old-fashioned rocket launchers, magical reincarnation, adorably suicidal sidekicks, nightmare bird romance, Star Wars-themed time travel, Abraham Lincoln impersonations %26ndash; that even now I can barely find the right words to describeeverything I saw.
Luckily, I had BioShock creator Ken Levine to do that for me. In a secret room hidden deep within the 2K booth at E3, he went into surprising, fascinating, super nerdy detail about his influences and inspirations for Infinite, including the love story in Ico, documentaries on Teddy Roosevelt and Devil in the White City, a nonfiction book about a serial killer terrorizing early-20th century Chicago. Oh yeah, and I ask if Rapture could possibly appear%26hellip; Ken Levine doesn%26rsquo;t say no.
