E3 2011: Payday: The Heist - a no show at the Sony conference, but this Sony Online shooter is one of the most promising games of the show
Robbing banks with masks on never looked so much fun. Except perhaps in Point Break.
Remember that scene in Point Break where Patrick Swayze and friends rob a bank? Or maybe you enjoyed the bank robbery in GTA IV? Well, imagine playing either of those to scenes in 4-player co-op on your PS3. Yes, you're right - that does sound like a lot of fun. But wait - this isn't just a fun game of 'what if' - it's actually happening, thanks to Sony Online Entertainment's forthcoming first-person shooter Payday: The Heist - which PC Gamer reckons could steal the show at E3. Check out gameplay and the first trailer here:
Tim Edwards of PC Gamerhas played andpreviewedthe game and saysif enough people get wind of it, it could be the game of the show. High praise indeed.
If it does turn out to be, at the very least, 'Left 4 Dead with cops', that'sfine byus. Here's the game being played at the event - see what you make of it:
At the time of writing, a 'learn to surf' sidequest looks unlikely. And although a close encounter with a lawnmower blade is also unconfirmed, judging by the amount of gore and headshot action going down, we wouldn't put it past Payday.
