E3 07: Tony Hawk's Proving Ground
With competition looming, this vaunted franchise knows it must go big or go home
In addition to the new mechanics, online has been better integrated with single-player - making it easier than ever to get embarrassed by 5-year-old prodigies. The new Skate Lounge looks similar to Sony's PS3 Home plans, except you can invite your buds to shred it. And finally, an extensive video editor will record your sweetest tricks, with camera and effects options to further blow people away.
The Tony Hawk franchise doesn't have much more left to prove, save for getting gamers to drop another $60 on a new game this year. With EA's SKATE also coming out this year, that may be a tougher trick to pull off than ever before, even with this many improvements. Glad to see the veteran pulling off some new tricks in order to compete.
