E3 07: Spielberg games revealed

Wednesday 11 July 2007
Electronic Arts has announced today details on two games being developed in collaboration with famed film director Steven Spielberg.

The first game, a Nintendo Wii exclusive, will involve manipulating blocks with the Wiimote to take part in over a hundred different activities; it will also allow the player to create their own structures and activities. The game will feature single-player, cooperative multiplayer, and competitive multiplayer modes.

The second game is being billed as “more ambitious” than the first and will be made available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. According to EA, this action-adventure will feature a “touching and ever-changing relationship between you and a mysterious female character who holds the key to many futures.”

No release dates or titles were given for either project.

Regarding the projects, Spielberg said, “I am a gamer myself and game development has always intrigued me. Now I’ve been able to jump in and do it, enjoying the creative collaboration with the EALA team on our first two games and I feel we have two incredibly unique projects in development.”

Spielberg originally signed on with Electronic Arts in October 2005 to collaborate on three EA Los Angeles-developed projects. The third project was not detailed in EA's press release.
