Dumped!
10 games that were flushed down the pan
The Red Star
Unlike most comic-to-game tie-ins, The Red Star wasn't based on recognisable spandex-clad superheroes – so the game had even more to prove. Part beat-'em-up, part shoot-'em-up, and all strangeness with its futuristic Soviet setting, it was shaping up to be one of the best two-player arcade games since the arcades went out of fashion. Unfortunately, it never got the chance to be Acclaim's best release in years, as Acclaim went bust just as the game was finished.
Comeback chance?
Though it was rumoured to have been rescued by several different publishers, nearly two years on, hopes are fading for The Red Star's release.
