Dumb & Dumber sequel finds new backing
New film will press forward with Universal and Red Granite
It was only last week we were reporting on how the potential sequel to Dumb And Dumber had been dropped by Warner Bros , but the Farrelly brothers have wasted little time in securing some alternative backing.
Peter Farrelly announced on Twitter that the film will now be going into production with Red Granite, with Universal also coming on board as domestic distributor.
The new agreement is good news for a production that has long been in the pipeline, but that has struggled to retain momentum over the last few years.
Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are both thought to be on board, and hopefully we will hear more details about start dates and filming locations over the coming weeks.
The one thing we would change though is that working title: Dumb And Dumber To . If only for our sanity…
