Duke Nukem Forever DLC arrives next week, new modes and silly hats promised
Hail to the Icons Parody Pack features new game modes, multiplayer maps, more weapons, and snark
Duke Nukem Forever can’t be stopped. After surviving a critical reception at launch, the game is about to receive its first DLC on October 11 in the form of the Hail to the Icons Parody Pack. Pulling no punches, the pack pokes fun at more popular and respected FPS series – and will feature three new game modes, four new multiplayer maps, more weapons, and silly hats.
Foe-shattering Freeze Tag, babe-hoarding Hot Potato and free-for-all Hail to the King, round out the pack’s new modes. The four new multiplayer maps will also be packed with graphics and snark.
Call of Duke features “modern combat” in an urban warzone, while Inferno returns to Duke's long-beloved pastime: making fun of Doom via 16-bit graphics. Meanwhile, 2Forts1Bridge gives Team Fortress 2 a sarcastic tip of the silly hat. The last and smallest new map will be Sandpit, where many mini-Dukes will fight the good fight with Sticky Bombs.
Hail to the Icons launches on Oct 11. It's a free download for First Access Club members who pre-registered before the game's launch; all others can pay $10 or 800 MSP to give Duke another chance to prove himself.
