DreamWorks take on The Intern
Reitman set to produce The Office scribblers’ comedy pitch
It’s fair to say that if you were a Hollywood honcho and your assistant told you there were two writers of the US version of The Office sitting in your reception with a pitch, you’d buzz ‘em in.
NBC’s hit comedy has taken off on the back of Ricky Gervais’ and Stephen Merchant’s UK smash-hit cringe-fest, with Anchorman’s Steve Carrell and My Super-Ex Girlfriend star Rainn Wilson in the leads.
Two of the sit-com's key-tappers, Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, have landed their comedy, The Intern, at DreamWorks.
The tale follows the life of a middle-aged house husband who heads back out to work but has to start as an intern. Ghostbusters helmer Ivan Reitman will hold the purse strings and is currently seeking a viable helmer for the project.
