""I'll hold your cardie"," former police psychologist Paul McGann tells single mum Susan Lynch as she prepares to shinny down a lift cable. It's a typically depressing line in a script chock full of uninspired, lazy dialogue. The low quality of the script takes a bad premise (Secrets and Lies urban drama meets Die Hard action thrills as the heroes get trapped in a lift in a Newcastle tower block) and somehow makes it even more stupid. It's highly likely that by the time the climax lurches into view - this, in case you care, concerns a gun-toting loony, a fire, a hospital sprinkler system and a poorly timed declaration of love - - you'll weep for the future of the British film industry.
