Doctor Who "The God Complex Overnight Ratings
None
Did the viewers worship the episode?
It was beaten by its direct competition on ITV1, All-Star Family Fortunes , which achieved 5.3 million viewers. That made Doctor Who third for the night overall, with ratings juggernaut The X-Factor coming first with 10.8 million viewers.
This is a slightly disappointing result for Doctor Who , as many will not have seen All-Star Family Fortunes as strong competition. However, Doctor Who had a very weak lead-in with Celebrity Masterchef , which had only 2.7 million viewers, while ITV1’s line up of shows is clearly encouraging people to stick with the channel.
You have to wonder as well if the publicity about this being a 12-rated episode meant that some parents decided not to let their children watch it without vetting it first? The final consolidated figures in a week’s time should be very interesting indeed, and they will doubtlessly see Who sail past Family Fortunes .
As usual, Doctor Who is currently number one on iPlayer, and the phrase “Amy and Rory” was trending on Twitter last night.
