The Division beta glitch let players walk on air (and they exploited the hell out of it)
You spend most of your time in The Division on street level, but a glitch in the open beta last weekend let some players hang out with the New York City skyline. Many of them disregarded the sightseeing potential to sow death from above on unexpecting agents in the PvP-enabled Dark Zone - after all, documenting and/or abusing bugs is what betas are for.
Using the glitch to your advantage in the Dark Zone isn't the worst thing in the world, since you can't steal much loot from 200 feet in the air. It's just really annoying for your victims. Speaking of which, here's a video from the way-less-fun-as-it-turns-out ground walker point of view.
Potential for admiring the city and pissing off fellow players aside, the glitch quietly underscores one of the coolest things about The Division: The Dark Zone, and all the players fighting inside, actually exist in your game world before you enter it. The explosions and gunfire you hear from the other side of the fence are legit. And if you happen to be floating a dozen stories up, you can even get a bird's eye view of the chaos.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
