Is there a Disney Plus free trial in November 2024?
Everything you need to know about the trial period
Finding a Disney Plus free trial is a very good idea in today's landscape. There are more streaming services vying for our hard-earned cash than ever these days (with everything from Peacock to Max squabbling over a slice of the pie), so cutting costs wherever possible is just sensible.
Unfortunately, I've got some bad news. At the time of writing in November 2024, the Disney Plus free trial doesn't exist anymore. It came to an end a few years ago, actually, and I think its chancing of coming back are minimal. Disney Plus is doing far too well without one for that to happen. Its subscriber count is somewhere around 150 million, for example.
Still, you don't need to despair. The 12DOVE team and I have been covering the streaming service since before it came out, and the cheapest offer we've found would be the 'Basic' tier for $9.99 per month in the US or £4.99p/m in the UK with ads, and these are literally your cheapest options. I've legitimately never found a cheaper alternative short of cell phone/internet contracts or Black Friday promotions. The latter is definitely worth holding out for if you can; Black Friday Disney Plus deals typically slash the price of bundles by a ridiculous amount. You were able to save $12.99 on Disney Plus and Hulu each month in 2023, for instance.
This Basic tier isn't necessarily the winner in terms of bang for buck, though. So far as value goes, it's worth checking out the streaming service's annual subscription. While it's pricier off the bat, you're getting 12 months of Disney Plus for the price of 10. From personal experience, that's the biggest saving you'll make unless you dive into a bundle.
I'll admit that none of these hold up to the Disney Plus free trial of old. Nothing beats the low, low cost of 'nada,' after all. But that's just the world we live in now, so unless you're able to get Disney Plus tacked on to a subscription, we don't have a tremendous amount of choice.

Disney Plus free trial: FAQs
Is there a 7-day free trail for Disney Plus?
Sadly, you can't get a 7-day Disney Plus free trial anymore. Or any kind of free trial, actually; it was removed a few years ago across the US, UK, Canada, and Australia. Because the streaming service has around 150 million subscribers these days, Disney's got no incentive to change its mind either.
As such, the cheapest method of signing up is a Basic membership with ads for $9.99 per month in the US or £4.99p/m in the UK. These subscriptions can be cancelled at any time, and there's no limit on what you can access - it's not like you'll be barred from certain content because you've chosen a cheaper membership.
Will the Disney Plus free trial come back?
If you're curious about if and when a Disney Plus free trial will return, you're not alone. I'm wondering the same thing, but it isn't looking good. Disney Plus has amassed more than a hundred million subscribers since launching in November 2019, and that shows how popular it's become without a free test period. As such, there's no incentive for Disney to reverse its removal if you ask me.
Even though I can see the Disney Plus free trial getting an encore during promotional pushes, the odds still aren't great. Disney seems happy to rely on a stream of original content or price cuts that'll reel in audiences instead, and there's more than enough on the horizon to pique interest for even the most belligerent viewer. (We've actually rounded up the 30 best movies on Disney Plus to watch right now to help make that decision easier.)
Instead of a Disney Plus trial, the best we can hope for is a discount like the one we got during Disney Plus Day last year. This temporarily reduced the price to $1.99 for a single month if you were a new or returning subscriber.
Is Disney Plus free with Hulu?
Sorry folks, Disney Plus is not free with Hulu. Well, unless you get lucky and the streaming service brings back that excellent offer from last Black Friday...
However, you can still save a bunch of money on the two streaming services by bundling them together. The cheapest option is Disney Plus and Hulu Duo Basic (with ads), and that's available for $10.99 per month.
Disney Plus free trial alternatives
Cheesed off that the Disney Plus free trial has gone away? Don't worry, it's not a total disaster. Disney Plus bundles are relatively affordable, and some offers get you multiple streaming services for a fraction of the normal price. I've listed those below.
Just be aware that these might change in the future. While the US, UK, Canada, and Australia got a Disney Plus sign-up price increase recently, it's possible that'll we see another hike in the next couple of years.

Now that the Disney Plus free trial is no more, this 'Basic' tier with ads is your best bet if you want to save money on the streaming service.

Want to avoid the ads? This is the offer for you, because it allows you to watch everything Disney has to offer without any interruptions.

Save $14.99 - This bundle gets you Disney Plus and Hulu without those annoying ads, all with a $14.99 reduction on getting them both separately.
Disney Plus (ads) + Hulu (ads) + Max (ads) | $16.99 per month
Save $12.98 - If you'd like a more rounded viewing experience with content to suit everyone, this is the bundle deal for you. It'd cost $29.97 for all three solo.
Disney Plus (no ads) + Hulu (no ads) + Max (no ads) | $29.99 per month
Save $21.98 - Ads are a royal pain, so this is the only option if you want to avoid them. You'd be paying $51.97 in total for each one as well, so that's quite a big saving.
Disney Plus (ads) + Hulu (ads) + ESPN Plus | $16.99 per month
Save $13.98 - Want the best value deal now that the Disney Plus free trial is gone? This bundle provides something for everyone and is probably the winner in terms of sheer value.

Disney Plus - UK
Disney Plus Basic (ads) | £4.99 per month

Disney Plus annual (no ads) | £89.90 one-off payment

Disney Plus 4K annual (no ads) | £129.90 one-off payment
Save $25.98 - Although it's quite expensive, it's much cheaper than paying monthly - you're getting 12 months for the price of 10.

Disney Plus - Canada
Disney Plus Basic (ads) | $7.99 per month
If you're looking to get the streaming service for as little as possible now the Disney Plus free trial is no more, we'd recommend the Basic membership with ads. You won't find anything for less, but you're still getting access to the full library with no restrictions.
Disney Plus Standard (no ads) | $11.99 per month
The normal membership without ads comes in just a smidge under $12.
Disney Plus Premium (no ads) | $14.99 per month
This offer gets you the service with a lack of ads, but all at super-sharp 4K resolution.
Disney Plus annual (no ads) | $119.99 one-off payment
Save $27.89 - Settling in for the long haul with Disney Plus? You get maximum value by signing up for a full year. This saves you around $24 on the standard monthly cost of Disney Plus, and you're getting the Star channel as well.
Disney Plus - Australia
Disney Plus (monthly) | $13.99 per month
A standard month of Disney Plus will set you back just under $14. It's a shame that the Disney Plus free trial is gone, but the standard rate isn't too bad considering that you're getting the new Star channel as well.
Disney Plus (annually) | $139.99 one-off payment
Save $27.89 - Getting hold of a full year of Disney Plus provides the best value for money. At $140 in Australia, it saves you the equivalent of two months compared to the standard fee. Once again, you're getting everything on Disney Plus and Star for that price.
