Diablo 4 Rite of Passage cedar tablet sin choice explained
You’ll need to burn a sin on a cedar tablet in the Rite of Passage Diablo 4 quest
The Diablo 4 Rite of Passage cedar tablet choice seems like an important one as it’s necessary to get into Kyovashad, but your choice doesn’t matter. To get into Kyovashad, you must go along with this Diablo 4 ritual to burn away a sin that you’ve inscribed on a cedar tablet and there’s no way around it – you can’t do a Lorath and just insist on not participating. You’ve got five different options to choose from but it’s all just flavor anyway. Here’s what you need to know about the Diablo 4 Rite of Passage quest choice at the Kyovashad gatehouse.
Which sin to choose for the Diablo 4 Rite of Passage
In short, the sin you choose to inscribe on the cedar tablet for the Diablo 4 Rite of Passage quest does not matter. Choosing any sin will get you into Kyovashad without issues and, as far I can tell, your choice between fear, anger, pride, greed, or just scribbling has no effect on gameplay. Just follow the guard’s orders and inscribe a holy cedar tablet from the nearby stall, then burn it in the brazier and the guard will let you pass through. From here, you can wrap up the prologue questline to gain access to Acts 1, 2, and three of the main story and explore the rest of Sanctuary.
There is a small dialogue difference based on your choice of sin that I noticed, which is that Lorath happens to correctly guess exactly what you wrote when you meet him at the Kyovashad stable. For example, if you chose to inscribe nothing but scribbles, Lorath says: “I’ll bet you didn’t write anything at all. I wouldn’t blame you”. Again, this seems to be inconsequential but it’s a nice touch anyway!
