Diablo 3: The Eternal Collection bundles the new Necromancer class, base game, and Reaper of Souls on console

Diablo 3 originally came out on PC in 2012. It made the jump to Xbox 360 and PS3 one year later, and then to Xbox One and PS4 a year after that. Now three years later, you might think that would be the end of Blizzard's hack-n-slash RPG, but nope! On June 27, current Diablo 3 owners can pick up Rise of the Necromancer, a sort of small-scale expansion that adds the new Necromancer class, as well as a new in-game pet and cosmetic items. It will cost $15.

While not technically part of Rise of the Necromancer, a patch releasing at the same time will add new zones, the Realms of Fate, and Challenge Rifts. The new zones are environments which explore the Diablo universe's history and lore (while also throwing new monsters at players), while the other new features are a bit more complex.

Realms of Fate is like a jumbled up mish-mash of existing environments, some twisted or warped in impossible ways - letting you jump between, say, a mirrored version of the swamps in Act 1 straight to the High Heavens of Act 4. Lastly, Challenge Rifts will… well, challenge you to complete extra-difficult instances with unique ability loadouts in order to reap greater rewards.

If you haven't yet purchased a copy of Diablo 3 for PS4 or Xbox One, you'll be able to pick up the digital-only Diablo 3: The Eternal Collection at a reduced price during the launch window - though you must also have an active PS Plus or Xbox Live membership to get the deal. The bundle, which will normally sell for $60, contains the base game, Reaper of Souls expansion, and Rise of the Necromancer.
