Diablo 4 1.1.12 patch notes are here and the multiplayer Nightmare Dungeon farm is dead

Diablo 4 1.1.12 patch notes have arrived ahead of the update's release on August 15, and the headliner is a fix to a Nightmare Dungeon farm that made multiplayer extra efficient.

The full patch notes open with a promising bit of news for Season 1 grinders: "The wait time for a Malignant monster to spawn after activating a Malignant Heart in the world has been reduced from five to two seconds." Three seconds might not sound like a lot, but when you wait for dozens of Malignant monsters to appear while farming the best gear, that wait starts to take a mental toll. I'm reminded of another Diablo 4 change which reduced the "Leave Dungeon" cast time back to three seconds. It's a small thing but it adds up.

There's also some bad news for farmers: "Fixed an issue where Nightmare Dungeons could be repeated by promoting other party members to leader." If you weren't using or aware of this particular trick, well, I suppose you've got a few days left to enjoy it with the patch coming in four days. Lots of players have certainly used it to speed up the leveling grind in the past few weeks.

The rest of the 1.1.12 patch notes is mostly miscellaneous bug fixes, but Druids do get a whole section to themselves.

  • Fixed an issue where Boulders cast with the Aspect of Metamorphic Stone equipped would not deal more than 100% damage.
  • Fixed an issue where the Agitated Winds malignant power would trigger when breaking destructible objects.
  • Fixed an issue where the Aspect of the Alpha Werewolf companions could float above the ground.

Frankly, floating werewolf companions sound to me more like a feature than an issue, but I suppose this stuff is good news for Druids.

In more positive Diablo 4 news, just yesterday one player found themselves in an extremely blessed position after they found what might be the luckiest Diablo 4 item ever.

After studying Film Studies and Creative Writing at university, I was lucky enough to land a job as an intern at Player Two PR where I helped to release a number of indie titles. I then got even luckier when I became a Trainee News Writer at 12DOVE before being promoted to a fully-fledged News Writer after a year and a half of training.  My expertise lies in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, cozy indies, and The Last of Us, but especially in the Kingdom Hearts series. I'm also known to write about the odd Korean drama for the Entertainment team every now and then.
