Quantic Dream Star Wars game rumored to be more action-focused
The Detroit: Become Human developer is rumored to be taking a big side-step from its usual style
The Quantic Dream Star Wars game that is reportedly in development will apparently feature more action than the studio's previous titles.
According to Kotaku - who says it has heard similar rumors about the game through an independent source - Quantic Dream’s Star Wars game "won’t be the conventional type of quick-time-event-driven game we’ve come to expect from the French studio." Instead, the article claims, "the game will have more traditional action gameplay, and possibly even open world and multiplayer elements."
The rumors surrounding the Detroit: Become Human and Heavy Rain developer came to light earlier this week via multiple unofficial sources and are yet to be officially confirmed by anyone at Disney or Quantic Dream.
These details originally stemmed from YouTuber Gautoz - who claims that Quantic Dream has finished its contract with Sony and so will be signing with Disney to make a new Star Wars game - and DualShockers' Tom Henderson; who recently shared a subtle hint towards this over the weekend and later claimed that the game had been in development for the past 18 months.
Not only this, but Henderson also claims that the Quantic Dream Twitter account had previously liked a tweet about working on a new Star Wars game.
Considering the amount of Star Wars games that are in development at the moment, - including Knights of the Old Republic remake for PS5 and the online multiplayer game Star Wars Hunters - and that Quantic Dream does have some kind of new game in development, it wouldn’t be too far of a stretch to believe that these claims could be somewhat true.
Especially since studio head David Cage has previously revealed the studio’s ambitions for the future noting that "I believe that there are other ways of telling moving and emotional stories that we haven’t tried out yet, and I am really interested in exploring new directions."

After studying Film Studies and Creative Writing at university, I was lucky enough to land a job as an intern at Player Two PR where I helped to release a number of indie titles. I then got even luckier when I became a Trainee News Writer at 12DOVE before being promoted to a fully-fledged News Writer after a year and a half of training. My expertise lies in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, cozy indies, and The Last of Us, but especially in the Kingdom Hearts series. I'm also known to write about the odd Korean drama for the Entertainment team every now and then.
