Destiny: Xur weapons, gear, and location, October 30 - November 1. Zhalo Supercell!

Destiny's weekend merchant, Xur, is back in the Tower. This time he’s down near the Vanguard hall, hanging out by the Crucible quartermaster. Yep, just kicking it back with Arcite, downing a few cold ones and exchanging embarrassing university stories over high-grade, imported cigarettes. But what does he have for sale this week? See below:

  • Legacy Engram [Special weapon engram] – 31 Strange Coins
  • The Taikonaut [Exotic Titan helmet] – 13 Strange Coins
  • Graviton Forfeit [Exotic Hunter helmet] – 13 Strange Coins
  • Alchemist’s Raiment [Exotic Warlock chest armour] – 13 Strange Coins
  • Zhalo Supercell [Exotic auto rifle] – 23 Strange Coins
  • Three of Coins – 7 Strange Coins
  • Glass Needle – 3 Strange Coins

It’s rather an intriguing selection. The stand-out is undoubtedly the Zhalo Supercell. The only elemental primary weapon in The Taken King thus far (possibly ever), its arc shots have a chance of delivering chain lightning damage to enemies near your target. Couple that with the chance to charge Super energy and regain ammo on double-kills, and you have quite the tidy little PvE package.

As for the armour? The Taikonaut is a great boon to heavy damage-wielding Titans, bestowing as it does a tracking ability for all rocket launchers. Gjallarhorn-lite for all! With extra Super energy gains from heavy kills, it’s a handy, if not essential, helmet. The Graviton Forfeit? Free Shadestep, which frees up other subclass options – while making you a nightmare to hit in PvP – but not much otherwise. And the Warlock armour? The Alchemist’s Raiment might not look terribly useful on the surface – being that it simply gives out glimmer on primary ammo pick-up, and converts orbs to grenade and melee energy when your Super is already charged – and indeed in most situations it isn’t. But if you’re willing to put the work into collecting the right gear, there are interesting builds to be made with it.

As ever, Xur will be around until 10am UK/2am PT on Sunday, so get in there all soonly, like, should you like the look of any of his wares.
