Destiny: Xur weapons, gear, and location, April 28 - 30. Trespasser, Invective, and Telesto!
Xur, Destiny’s travelling weekend Exotic trader, is back. This week he’s in the Tower, over near the Speaker. He’s not saying much, but the air of tension between them remains positively corrisive. If anything, the mood is even uglier than usual. Something’s happened this week. Something’s happened, or it’s about to.
Anyway! What’s Xur selling? Well this week, he’s selling nothing but good, occasionally segueing into “Good Lord, that’s good!”
• Immolation Fists (Exotic Titan gauntlets) – 13 Strange Coins
• Knucklehead Radar (Exotic Hunter helmet) – 13SC
• Obsidian Mind (Exotic Warlock helmet) – 13SC
• Trespasser (Exotic sidearm) – 23SC
• Legacy Engram (Exotic chest armour engram) – 31 Strange Coins
• Invective and Storm's Reproach (Exotic weapon and ornament combo) - 30SC and 25 Silver Dust
• Telesto and Lingering Vestige (Exotic weapon and ornament combo) - 30SC and 25 Silver Dust
• Exotic Shard - 7SC
• Three of Coins – 7SC
• Glass Needle – 3SC
First up, the Titans’ Immolation Fists take the Hammer of Sol super and scale it up beyond its standard-issue ‘Brutal’ status, to a level that can only be defined as ‘Mate. Seriously’. What they do, specifically, is give you the Explosive Pyre perk – which adds explosive chain-damage to hammer kills – for free. What this means is that you can now combo that perk with the Sunbreaker tree’s otherwise inaccessible tracking hammer and agility / reload buffs. And that is good. The Hunters’ Knucklehead Radar, on the other hand, is more of an ambient boon, but fortunately it’s also a great one, giving you active radar when scoped on any primary weapon. Generally more useful in the Crucible than in PvE, but it’s also a handy way of cheating around the Chaff modifier when it comes up on Strikes.
As for Warlocks? They get by far the best piece of armour this week. In fact, they get one of the best Warlock Exotics full-stop. Obsidian Mind, you see, has a delightful little habit of charging your Nova Bomb with kills from your Nova Bomb. If that sounds like some last-days-of-Rome extravagance, that’s because it is, though you will need some careful strategy to get the best out of it. The amount by which each Nova readies the next is dictated by how much you kill and how much damage you do, so you’ll need to pick your moments to make those hits count. But that just means that the Mind is teaching you how to use your super better, as well as making it as powerful as Hell’s own jaws. The helmet might have a grim, blank countenance, but its heart contains nothing but love.
As for guns? Trespasser is a lovely little sidearm. It has a ludicrous rate of fire, strong stopping power, reloads in a blink, and then, with its signature perk, skips merrily into a bright, summer meadow filled with nothing but pain. Reload after a kill – which obviously won’t rake long – and your next burst will be more powerful and more accurate. What a hungry little pup the Trespasser is.
Using Invective feels, in all respects, like firing an angry, handheld, robot dragon. Rattling out four shots in very quick full-auto (with bonus damage on the last, just for the sake of being ridiculous), it also has moddable stability and the golden shotgun stat combination of great range and impact. Its signature perk sees it regenerating ammo over time as well, but really, it’s so good overall that that last part is just icing. And Telesto? Effectively a fusion rifle that thinks it’s a sticky grenade launcher, it fires charged projectiles that attach to targets and detonate after a small ‘Guess what, you’re dead’ delay. They also cause resounding splash to all in the vicinity. Telesto is excellent, and cares not for your rules or the pitifully conventional thinking that led them to be.

As ever, Xur will be around until Sunday at 2am PT / 10am UK, at which point he’ll scoot off to do whatever he does for the rest of the week. Don’t ask. Just don’t.
