Destiny will appear on your PS4, even if you don't own a copy

Whether you're a engram entrepreneur with Sleeper Simulant on the brain or a total Guardian agnostic, it seems Destiny is determined to make its way onto your PS4. Even if you've never actually played it.

Sound weird? Well, it turns out a number of PS4 users have noticed the Destiny: The Taken King icon appearing out of nowhere on their machines. Thankfully, it doesn't mean your losing the plot, but rather the presence of an existing 'curated content' feature. Forming part of software update 1.75 (released last year), the new auto-download utility adds icons to your PS4 UI based on your purchase history. "The PS4 system has the ability to learn about your preferences," comments Sony on its official website. "It will learn your likes and dislikes, allowing you to discover content pre-loaded and ready to go on your console in your favorite game genres or by your favorite creators."

Thankfully, the feature isn't mandatory and can be switched off if adding Destiny: The Taken King and the like isn't your bag. Just log onto your PS4, go to the 'Settings' tab, select 'Automatic Downloads' and uncheck the box.
