Destiny's fresh Carlton emote costs $5 in Silver

Destiny's new Eververse Trading Company is open for business, which means it's time to decide how much fresh virtual dance moves are worth to you. Bungie's started everybody off with 400 "Silver" - the new currency which you can acquire by spending real cash - but guess how much the Carlton Dance emote costs.

Yes, it and the always-droll "Slow Clap" emote both cost 500 Silver. While those Legendary emotes (hey, their names are purple, that means they're Legendary) will require you to spend some extra IRL coin, you can at least get the Rare emotes for 200 silver a piece.

If you decide you just can't live without your Guardian going all Bel-Air at the end of every Strike, the cheapest Silver boost will get you 500 for $4.99 (£3.99). As usual, the deals get better as the lump sum grows: $9.99 (£7.99) will get you 1100 Silver, and spending $19.99 (£15.99) will get you 2,300. Or you could wait until later this year, when Bungie says it will give out some more free Silver to active players.

Real-life silver is currently selling for about $16 per ounce, so Destiny Silver is actually pretty cheap, all things considered. And can you really put a price on making your magic space marine flail around like a young Alfonso Ribeiro?
