Destiny 2 The Final Shape review
This expansion is an excellent addition to one of the best FPS games of the decade, providing a great payoff for Bungie's flagship title. In our Destiny 2: The Final Shape review, we said: " Even with some classic endgame grinding repetitiveness, it's an incredibly well-executed expansion that nicely rounds off a decade-long journey, making it Destiny 2's best."
You can play Destiny 2: The Final Shape on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store).
Destiny 2 Iconoclasm mission on Legendary
The Final Shape campaign is tough in places, especially on Legendary difficulty, and the last mission is a great example. With three major bosses to face and unique mechanics to understand, make sure you know exactly how the Destiny 2 Iconoclasm mission works for a smooth completion of the climactic lead up to the endgame.
How to get every Prismatic Subclass Fragment in Destiny 2
There are 21 Destiny 2 Prismatic Fragments to get in The Final Shape. You'll have six of them right off the bat, but the other 15 need to be found in the Pale Heart and, in some cases, unlocked by solving puzzles.
- Getting the five types of Memories by gathering Destiny 2 Memory Vestiges and finding the chests within the search areas will get you five more Prismatic Fragments.
- The Destiny 2 Facet of Justice is unlocked by completing a puzzle in the Refraction.
- You can get the Destiny 2 Facet of Grace by killing certain Dread in the Lost City.
- Find and help some Lost Ghosts in the Lost City Outskirts to get the Destiny 2 Facet of Mending.
- Explore the Cosmodrome wall in the Divide to uncover the Destiny 2 Facet of Command.
How to get the Prismatic Exotic Class item in Destiny 2 and how it works
To round out your Prismatic builds, you can get also get a new Destiny 2 Exotic Class item that can be used exclusively with your Prismatic Subclass. Instead of providing a unique Exotic perk, it rolls with two random perks inspired by existing pieces of Exotic armor, allowing for some wild combinations of powers to supe up your fused Light and Darkness powers. You can unlock it by completing the Destiny 2 Dual Destiny Exotic mission with a pal, but there are other ways to get random rolls too.
Destiny 2 Alone in the Dark quest
Micah-10 is one of the main characters you'll be speaking to and helping in The Final Shape's endgame quests, specifically helping her find and heal missing Ghosts in the Pale Heart. This is mainly through the repeatable Destiny 2 Alone in the Dark quest, which is a good way to get some of the new Pale Heart weapons.
Destiny 2 Khvostov quest
While many Exotic weapons in Destiny 2 require some kind of quest or mission to unlock them, the Exotic Destiny 2 Khvostov requires you to gather lots of collectibles throughout the Pale Heart. That means getting the ultimate form of the first weapon in Destiny can be a bit of a chore, but it's worth it. You'll need:
- All 15 Destiny 2 Lost Encryption Bits obtained from Region Chests, and Cysts
- All 17 Motes of Light obtained from Overthrow bosses and Destiny 2 Traveler collectibles
Is The Final Shape the end of Destiny 2?
No. The Final Shape is not the end of Destiny 2. The aftermath of The Final Shape is being explored in three Episodes – a different take on the seasonal model – starting with "Echoes" which is currently running. The Final Shape is, however, the end of the "Light and Darkness Saga", which is Bungie's term for Destiny's first decade of stories that began with Destiny 1.
