How to get Destiny 2 Silver Leaves during Solstice
Silver Leaves are needed to unlock and upgrade Solstice armor in Destiny 2
Collecting Destiny 2 Silver Leaves is key to progressing the Solstice event quest and unlocking the Solstice armor set for each Class. Thankfully, they're incredibly simple to earn as you can do pretty much anything in Destiny 2 once you've got the Solstice Forge from Eva. With enough Silver Leaves in your inventory, you can buy forge quests to help you unlock the special armor set, and then eventually upgrade it and get good armor rolls. Below, I've gone into the specifics of how to get Silver Leaves during the Solstice event and what exactly you use them for.
How to get Silver Leaves in Destiny 2
Getting Silver Leaves is very simple: play any activity in Destiny 2 while you have the Solstice Forge item in your inventory. Collecting the Solstice Forge from Eva Levante in the Tower is also one of the first things you'll do and is pretty much impossible to miss unless you ignore you the Celebrating Solstice quest entirely.
Once you've got the forge, every activity you complete will dish out several Silver Leaves as an extra reward, be it Destiny 2 Heroic Public Events or the Bonfire Bash Solstice activity. I recommend the latter as, every time I've completed Bonfire Bash, I've got six or seven Silver Leaves as a reward, completed it in roughly the same time or faster than a lot of Strikes and Crucible matches, and you can get Solstice weapons, such as the Destiny 2 Fortunate Star Bow, Something New Hand Cannon, and Compass Rose Shotgun.
What to spend Silver Leaves on in the Destiny 2 Solstice event
Now that you've collected some Silver Leaves, you can spend them on armor bounties in your Solstice Forge that unlock Solstice armor. Open your quest inventory and inspect the Solstice Forge item, then pay for a bounty for each armor slot with your Silver Leaves – the bounty cost depends on its rarity color (green = 1 Silver Leaf, blue = 2 leaves, purple = 5 leaves).
Each completed bounty will get you Alloys (harder bounties reward more Alloys) and sometimes random Solstice loot or Enhancement Cored from a Solstice package that is automatically opened upon cashing in the bounty. Later in the main Celebrating Solstice quest, you'll also unlock the ability to re-roll the bounties for each armor slot on your Solstice Forge for five Silver Leaves.
The Alloys are the important thing, however, as collecting them contributes to both unlocking and upgrading Solstice armor. Once you get 100 Alloys for a particular armor slot, you'll get the armor and can complete an Incandescent Ingot quest to upgrade the armor with a glow effect. You can also continue completing regular forge bounties to get armor rolls with potentially high stats!

Destiny 2 players were right: Bungie confirms an issue "in our code" making some god roll guns harder to get, and says it has already identified a potential fix
Denied their crafting fix, Destiny 2 players got so unlucky that they started conspiracy theories about the MMO's drop rates, and got so loud Bungie had to correct them
