D'awww! John Wick's dog is the real star of these new sequel images

The end of John Wick is glorious. Oh yes, spoilers ahoy for John Wick! But I'm assuming that if you're reading this, then you already know and love the 2014 actioner that ends with Keanu Reeves' assassin laying waste to Reek and then getting himself a new canine companion.

It's the happiest ending for a film that positively drips with blood. If the thought of that lil' pitbull puppy going the way of its predecessor (i.e. no longer living) had you all upset, then fear not. It looks like he makes it (part of the way) through the movie!

The sweet pup is happily trotting alongside his owner, across what looks like the Brooklyn bridge. Is this a before or after shot? Going by the grime on Reeves' attire, it appears that he might have already tussled with some unsavory types. But who knows? The sequel is set to take the uber-cool assassin overseas, where he'll be in pursuit of "the world's deadliest killers." It's probably unlikely that the doggie will venture the globe with him (visas for pets = logistical nightmare) so what we might be seeing is their stateside reunion. Awww.

If the rumors are true we could be getting our first glimpse at the trailer in the next couple of weeks, which *fingers crossed* will hopefully include at least one shot of Turner and Hooch. I mean, Wick and Dog.

Directed by Chad Stahelski and starring Keanu Reeves, Bridget Moynahan, Peter Stormare, Laurence Fishburne, Lance Reddick, Ian McShane, Common, John Leguizamo, and Ruby Rose, John Wick: Chapter Two is released in UK and US cinemas on February 10, 2017.
