David O. Russell and Christian Bale to reunite on American Bullshit
The Fighter duo are gearing up for a new FBI-sting flick
The Fighter director David O. Russell could be reteaming with his Oscar-winning actor Christian Bale for American Bullshit .
The provocatively titled project will explore the real-life events of 1970s FBI sting ‘Abscam’, a public corruption investigation which brought down several high profile figures.
Bradley Cooper is currently in talks to co-star in the project, but it’s not yet clear what roles he or Bale would play.
While we’re sorry Mark Wahlberg won’t be joining the reunion, it could be interesting to see what dramatic talent Cooper can bring to what will hopefully be an intense and expletive-laden set.
Although neither Bale nor Russell are averse to the odd bit of cursing, only time will tell if the MPAA deems American Bullshit an appropriate title.
Should funding go ahead, production will start in January 2013.
