Praise the sun, Dark Souls 3 stress test sign-ups are open
If death at the bony claws of unknowable horrors isn't enough for you, you might as well see how you do with a bunch of network problems and work-in-progress bugs in the mix. Applications for the PS4-exclusive Dark Souls 3 are open now.
You have until October 4th at 8 am PDT / 4 pm BST to visit the official website and get your application in, though the deadline is subject to change without notice. You'll be notified if you won the "selection lottery" around October 12 at 6 pm PDT / October 13 at 2 am BST.
If you want to apply, make sure you can clear out any evening plans for the weekend of October 16 in a hurry. From Software expects you to play hard and take detailed bug notes from 8 to 11 pm PDT or 7 to 10 pm BST on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Speaking of which, you'll need a PlayStation Plus subscription to participate in North America, but not in Europe.
Keep in mind that Dark Souls 3 is still in active development ahead of its April 2016 release window, so the Network Stress Test really will be a test. A lot will probably go wrong, and you may even lose your progress - in a worse way than Dark Souls usually makes you lose your progress, I mean.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
