Daniel Craig & Rachel Weisz get spooked in Dream House trailer
“Once upon a time there were two little girls who lived in a house…”
The first trailer for Dream House , the harrowing-homestead chiller starring Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz, has been unveiled.
The story concerns a family who move into a house, unaware that their new place has a creepy backstory. It seems that the previous occupants were killed, with the father being the main suspect.
Anyone who has seen The Shining will know that this doesn’t bode well. As well as the plot echoes, there are a couple of visual nods towards Stanley Kubrick’s peerless hotel horror (scribbles reflected in a mirror, a pair of girls haunting a corridor).
Those planning to go into Dream House cold might want to skip the trailer, as it goes on to give perhaps too much away…
Here’s the trailer:
Jim Sheridan ( My Left Foot , In America , and, er, Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ ) directs, and the film is guaranteed to attract some tabloid attention after stars Craig and Weisz got married in secret last month.
Dream House opens in the US on 30 September 2011. Expect it to follow in the UK soon after.
