Dangerous Golf is Burnout's Crash Mode with balls
Admit it. Burnout's Crash Mode was pretty much the best part. Barrelling from car to car, just waiting for that perfect moment to trigger another explosion, watching tyres and lorries fly through the air in slow motion and then doing the whole thing again.
If you haven't already had the pleasure, Dangerous Golf is ex-Criterion founders 'spiritual successor' to Burnout and, joyously, it's just Crash Mode. You steer a flaming explosive golf ball, trying to cause as much destruction and chaos as possible while words such as 'smashbreaker' appear on the screen and a satisfying tally tots up the cost of the madness.
The full game is out on PS4, Xbox One and Steam on June 3 and has a world tour of explosions and even co-op golf fun. Between this and 100ft Robot Golf, it's enough to make the sport actually entertaining.
