Dane DeHaan stars in gruesome new image from The Amazing Spider-Man 2
Sequel will set up events of Sinister Six movie
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has released a new image online, starring Dane DeHaan as the new incarnation of the Green Goblin.
When the film’s publicity campaign first began, there were some question marks over whether Harry Osborn would transform into the Goblin in this film or further down the track, but there is no longer any room for debate… the Goblin is coming.
Quite a fright he looks too, with the transformation appearing to have taken a pronounced physical toll on Osborn Jr., pallid skin, yellowing teeth and all.
Director Marc Webb has continually insisted that Electro will remain the primary villain of the piece, so just how the Goblin will fit into proceedings remains to be seen, but it certainly looks as though he’s going to have a major role to play.
Meanwhile, Sony Pictures co-chairman Amy Pascal has told Entertainment Weekly that the sequel will go some way towards setting up the forthcoming Sinister Six movie.
“At the tail end of this movie we set up some of the other characters that will probably end up being in The Sinister Six ,” says Pascal. “We’re going forward on all fronts.”
Directed by Webb and co-starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Jamie Foxx, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will open in the UK on 18 April 2014.
