Dan Stevens and Luke Evans join Beauty And The Beast
Disney’s live-action remake of Beauty And The Beast has added two star names to its cast list, with THR reporting that Dan Stevens and Luke Evans have joined the production.
Stevens will star opposite leading lady Emma Watson as the titular Beast, while Evans will be the villain of the piece as the intensely hissable Gaston.
The role of Beast was apparently offered to Eddie Redmayne, only for the Oscar-winner to turn it down, and represents the most high-profile big-screen role of Stevens’ career to date.
As for the film itself, it has yet to be disclosed how exactly the Beast will be brought to life, although Stevens will have to practice his singing as this version of the story is going to be a musical one…
Directed by Bill Condon, filming is set to begin on the project later this year, with an official release date yet to be announced by Disney.
Emma Watson confirmed the new casting via Twitter:
