D-Day in your hands
[PSP] New Brothers in Arms game due for handheld in autumn
Thursday 31 August 2006
Rather than standing by while Medal of Honour Heroes makes its landing on PSP, our favourite WWII squad-based shooter series Brothers in Arms is launching its own portable assault with exclusive title D-Day. Check the images tab above for the first screens.
Following the Normandy invasion through the viewpoints of Sergeants Baker and Hartsock, you'll be commanding a squad through new dangers including improved German AI and destroyable cover. Thankfully, your squad should be able to destroy some cover right back with mortar and bazooka rounds, and take advantage of surprise to start battles on an advantage.
Above: Flanking, laying down covering fire, and an occasional streak of luck are all vital
Co-op multiplayer offers 12 missions, and publisher and developer Ubisoft reckons it's reworked Brothers in Arms' typical scout-plan-AARGH-SHOOT-RUN structure to fit the handheld (as well as wrangling a workable first-person control scheme). We'll find out for ourselves soon, with the title due for release before the end of the year.
