DnD Black Friday deals FAQ
When will the D&D Black Friday deals start?
We don't need to consult with our wizard's orb to work out the date of Black Friday 2024; the sale always takes place after Thanksgiving and on the final Friday of November, which means this year's sale will occur on November 29.
Savings aren't limited to a single day, though. These DnD Black Friday reductions will most likely start long before that and roll on into the following week. It's good to know you have a little time to ponder on a purchase, but don't take too long or else the goods could be snapped up!
Where will I find the best DnD Black Friday deals?
Despite sounding like a cop-out, I'd have to say that Amazon offers are your best bet during the Dungeons & Dragons Black Friday deals. It always seems to get the most tempting discounts, so we'd always keep an eye on it.
The UK's a bit different, though; newcomers like Magic Madhouse, Wayland Games, and Zatu are great options because they often beat the competition in terms of reductions.

UK
- Amazon: The best for overall discounts and variety

- Zatu: Offers consistently decent savings
- Waterstones: Get your hands on special alternative covers here
- Wayland Games: A decent source of minis and books
- Zavvi: Stocks a wide range of D&D merchandise
What to expect from 2024's Black Friday DnD deals
Although you can bet on accessories like dice or miniatures being slashed in price for this year's Black Friday Dungeons & Dragons sale, rulebooks and adventures tend to steal the spotlight. Here's what you should expect from the upcoming sale.
📚 Most books discounted by up to 50% or more
It really isn't uncommon for DnD's adventures and sourcebooks to be slashed to half-price or less during Black Friday, and this has happened consistently for the last few years. Essentially, it's an opportunity to build up a killer library for much less than normal. Even if that doesn't happen, we usually get some kind of free/for less offer anyway. I often spot a 'buy 3 for the price of 2' saving kicking around, for example.
❗ The old core rulebooks will get big discounts... but don't bother with them
Because there are new rulebooks that have just come out, you're likely to see reductions on the old ones... but it's important not to get these, because those rules have been superseded. Essentially, you're wasting your cash unless you have a group determined to play the old mechanics.
🎲 Accessories get discounts, but these savings aren't massive
While there are a few exceptions (like the official Creature or Terrain Case), third-party dice and other accessories don't get massive reductions for Black Friday - we're talking a couple of dollars/pounds at best. As such, I wouldn't expect massive price cuts from them as a result.
Last year's best DnD Black Friday deals
Curse of Strahd | $49.95 $18.99 at Amazon

Save $23 - One of the most recent D&D books fell to this significantly lower price, and was still there even after Black Friday.
Player's Handbook | $49.95 $17.99 at Amazon
Save $32 - The 5e Player's Handbook is arguably the essential D&D book with pretty much all the basic rules and information for players and DMs. While this wasn't its lowest price ever, it's a good discount compared to what this book typically costs at Amazon and other retailers.
Planescape: Adventures in the Multiverse | $84.99 $50.99 at Amazon
Save $34 - We'd never seen this trio of books for less, and considering how new it was, we'd argue that this was a standout of 2023's D&D Black Friday deals.
Starter Set: Dragons of Stormwreck Isle | $19.99 $13.99 at Amazon
Save $6 - This was the latest starter set for D&D, and although that wasn't its lowest ever price, it'd not been cheaper since the end of 2022. That makes this offer a pretty decent one, all things considered.

Save $30 - This adventure book hit its lowest price on Amazon after hovering around the $25-$30 mark for a while.
Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk | $44.98 $39.97 at Walmart

Save $30 - If you'd been looking for an excuse to spin your own school of magic-themed adventures or campaign, Strixhaven reached its new lowest price last year.

Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen | $49.95 $18.98 at Amazon
Save $31 - It's not the lowest price we'd ever seen Shadow of the Dragon Queen at, but it was certainly a good deal, and looks like it'd the cheapest it'd ever been on Amazon. A freak one-off at Entertainment Earth saw this book drop to below $14, but this was still a solid saving.
Waterdeep: Dragon Heist | $49.95 $14.97 at Amazon
Save $35 - That was a single cent off this book's lowest ever price, so this was one of the better D&D Black Friday deals last year.

Save $29 - It's not quite the cheapest we'd seen this D&D book, but it was just a dollar from it. This adventure hadn't been so affordable since Black Friday 2022, so it was an excellent find if you were looking to explore Waterdeep in a whole new light.

Save $35 - This was the cheapest we'd ever seen Out of the Abyss, making it a top Black Friday D&D deal to take advantage of over the weekend.
The Wild Beyond the Witchlight | $49.95 $19.99 at Amazon
Save $30 - At 60% off its RRP, this D&D adventure was sitting at its biggest reduction in two years. That made it an all-time low offer, so if you're into the wackier side of D&D, The Wild Beyond the Witchlight was one to add to your shopping list.

Save $30 - At just five cents above its lowest price ever, Princes of the Apocalypse was one of our top D&D deal picks last year.
Xanathar's Guide to Everything | $49.95 $17.99 at Amazon
Save $32 - This sourcebook offers an amount of extra rules for DMs and subclass options for players. It's an excellent choice and serves as a great expansion to the Player's Handbook, so was well worth picking up at this low price if you didn't already have it.
Fizban's Treasury of Dragons | $49.95 $18.99 at Amazon
Save $31 - If you're a big fan of the 'dragons' part in Dungeons & Dragons, then this book all about the mythical beasts will be a good purchase - it was also the lowest price we'd seen it for Black Friday!
