Cyber Monday PS5 deals 2024: everything we expect to see this year

Whether you're plugging some holes in your collection, holding out for a record-low price on a console, or upgrading your storage, Cyber Monday PS5 deals are a fantastic opportunity to save. It's true, the highest flying of discounts are generally reserved for the Friday itself - but we often see many of these savings holding their positions on the shelves over the course of the weekend. Most of these deals rarely jump back up the price scale once the clock strikes midnight, so if you do miss the main event there's usually plenty left over to pick at.

We're optimistic for these Fall sales - last year brought us two of the most value-rich PS5 bundles we've seen yet, with either Spider-Man 2 or Call of Duty Modern Warfare included for free with the new PS5 Slim model. Considering we're already seeing similar bundles (in the form of an NBA2K25 package that saves you $50), those numbers are already starting to trickle south and we're not even in November yet. That, plus record low prices across official and third party games and accessories made for a particularly compelling sale.

While these offers aren't going to compete with the full whack of Black Friday PS5 deals, they can still offer up plenty of record low prices. We've been covering Cyber Monday PS5 deals for years now, and we're rounding up everything we've learnt in that time just below.

What to expect from Cyber Monday PS5 deals in 2024

The big question on everyone's minds is whether the PS5 itself will see any discounts over Cyber Monday this year. We certainly could see straight discounts on the PS5 Slim in 2024's holiday sales - the US has enjoyed a $50 discount on the $499.99 MSRP a few times this year so far, and the UK has seen that price drop to £409 in the past 12 months as well. With the PS5 Pro launching just weeks before official Cyber Monday PS5 deals (and at an incredibly high $699 / £699 price point) it wouldn't be surprising to see the PS5 Slim back down to these discounted rates.

We'll get this out of the way, though, we're not expecting to see any savings on the PS5 Pro during Cyber Monday. Instead, we're looking to bundles to add value to this premium console. Like the PS5 Slim, we're expecting to find full-priced releases included for free with the system around the release day hype - think Call of Duty Black Ops 6 and maybe Assassin's Creed: Shadows.

We will likely see more stability in cheap PS5 games and the best PS5 accessories. PS5's 2023 releases saw some excellent discounts over the course of last year's Cyber Monday PS5 deals, with Hogwarts Legacy, Final Fantasy, Assassin's Creed Mirage, and Resident Evil 4 offering up new record low prices over the course of the sale. We would, of course, expect similar if not heavier savings on these games - especially considering many have already been cheaper in 2024. However, newer releases are going to be more interesting. We're looking to the games released in the first half of 2024 for the biggest savings here - The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, Street Fighter 6, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Tekken 8, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, and Skull and Bones are top of the list.

Sony Pulse 3D headset

If you're after extra kit you'll want to get in there early. While we did see record low prices on both the DualSense controller and Pulse 3D headset lasting into Cyber Monday last year, they were quickly snatched off the shelves. We've only seen similar $49 / £39 sale prices on the controller a couple of times since then, so we'd expect to find it at a similar price this year. The Pulse 3D headset, meanwhile, has been a little more stubborn. We anticipate a $20 / £20 saving on that $99.99 / £89.99 MSRP, then.

If you're after something a little more pro, you've got two options. The DualSense Edge is far more Sony aligned, but its $199.99 / £209 MSRP hasn't seen any discounts in the US so far, and has only dropped £10 off its price in the UK. While we will likely see a little extra cash off this device in 2023's holiday sales, we may only see it dip down to $179.99 / £179.99.

Unfortunately for PlayStation, that's where the Victrix Pro BFG (the best PS5 controller we've tested yet) starts life. While that $179.99 / £179.99 is still hesitant to drop its rates, we've seen it down at around £130 in the UK before. That means there's a little more wiggle room in this price.

FAQ

When will Cyber Monday PS5 deals start?

Cyber Monday PS5 deals will officially kick off on Monday December 2 this year, which means we'd recommend watching for retailers turning their Black Friday sales around over the course of the weekend before.

Where will the best Cyber Monday PS5 deals be?

Certain retailers are better equipped to offer out high quality Cyber Monday PS5 deals. We've been watching the retailers below for years and they rarely disappoint.

US
Amazon:
expect some of the day's finest discounts
Best Buy: headsets and storage deals usually stand out here
Walmart: big discounts on some of the year's hottest games again?
Newegg: we're hoping for some discounted PS5 SSD options
CDKeys: PSN top-ups should feature

UK
Amazon:
we're expecting some of the cheapest deals for all things PS5
Very: could be a contender for surprise console stock
CDKeys: PSN wallet top-ups, and maybe some games too
Argos: often saves some of its best deals for this time
Currys: one to watch for gaming and electronics in general

Will the PS5 be cheaper on Cyber Monday?

While the PS5 will likely be cheaper over the full Black Friday weekend, it might not be too much cheaper over Cyber Monday. That's because retailers will often slowly raise their prices as their deal-allotted stock runs out. With so much competition snapping up those discounted consoles on Black Friday, the weekend after might be too late.

Should you buy a disc or digital PS5 on Cyber Monday?

The majority of players will be better suited to the disc version of the PS5 on Cyber Monday. Not only does it allow you to run a whole library of cheaper PS4 games on your new device, but if pricing remains inline with previous record lows the disc version represents greater value overall. We haven't seen the digital edition taking any price cuts so far - and we're not anticipating anything too groundbreaking over Cyber Monday either. Considering the discounted PS5 comes so close to the price of the digital edition it's worth the upgrade.
