The complete guide to Jurassic World
First official stills
At long last, after years spent imagining what a new Jurassic World would be like, a trio of stills emerged online via Entertainment Weekly. A perfectly-coiffed Bryce Dallas Howard stood to attention in the first snap, taken behind one of the Panavision cameras used to bring the movie to life.
Still #2: Car wreck
Could this be the work of a T-rex slamming itself against a jeepful of terrified patrons? Or perhaps a bit of nighttime driving in the rain inspired by Dennis Nedry?
Still #3: Vista
A beautiful image of a lone production chair captured the stillness of Hawaii.
Just offscreen an enraged dino chews on the bones of an old goat. Probably.
Giacchino scores!
No stranger to the blissful idyllic vistas of Hawaii after his work on Lost, Michael Giacchino was confirmed as the films composer.
Michael Giacchino is a fiercely creative musical mind and a true Jurassic Park fan, said director Colin Trevorrow. While this new score will honor the indelible work of John Williams, our mission is the same as the film itself to create something bold and new for people who love dinosaurs.
Thats quite a task, what with Williams original composition renowned for bringing a tear to many an eye. However, Giacchinos work on Lost proved hes got what it takes to pen an equally powerful score.

Anyone need a vet?
When you consider the day-to-day functioning of Jurassic Park, one vital component is the need for strong-bladdered veterinarians. After all, theyre not simply nipping the nuts from pups - these guys are administering tetanus shots to T-Rexes!
Shining a light on that much-needed element of Park life, Trevorrow posted a snap of the new parks veterinarian badge.
Backstory revealed
Much like the methods by which InGens scientists used frogs to plug up missing dino DNA, many gaps in the Jurassic World story still had to be filled. For instance, where exactly does the movie take place?
Jurassic World takes place in a fully functional park on Isla Nublar, Trevorrow told /Film.It sees more than 20,000 visitors every day. You arrive by ferry from Costa Rica. It has elements of a biological preserve, a safari, a zoo, and a theme park.
There is a luxury resort with hotels, restaurants, nightlife and a golf course. And there are dinosaurs. Real ones. You can get closer to them than you ever imagined possible. Its the realization of John Hammonds dream, and I think youll want to go there.
Modern malaise
Continuing his chat with the fansite, Trevorrow brought to life one of the scariest images thus far: a bored teen... hanging with a rather large dino.
Our relationship with technology has become so woven into our daily lives, he explained to Slash Film. Weve become numb to the scientific miracles around us. We take so much for granted What if, despite previous disasters, they built a new biological preserve where you could see dinosaurs walk the earth and what if people were already kind of over it?
We imagined a teenager texting his girlfriend with his back to a T-Rex behind protective glass. For us, that image captured the way much of the audience feels about the movies themselves. Weve seen CG dinosaurs. What else you got? Next year, youll see our answer.
Cooking up beasties
Addressing the DNA gap specifically, Trevorrow concluded his chat with the film blog by teasing a new addition to the parks roster of animals.
There will be one new dinosaur created by the parks geneticists, he said. The gaps in her sequence were filled with DNA from other species, much like the genome in the first film was completed with frog DNA. This creation exists to fulfil a corporate mandate. Tthey want something bigger, louder, with more teeth. And thats what they get.
Yikes.
First look at Chris Pratt
Things start to hot up as exactly one year prior to the films release, a trio of new images land online courtesy of Entertainment Weekly. The web immediately goes into paroxysms of glee at the sight of a muscled Chris Pratt... with a motorbike.
The scientist and the biker
The second shot shows Bryce Dallas Howards scientist giving Pratts cool dino wrangler a stern talking to.
